How to update my database from my workplace?

Each step described below will make it possible for him to update directly your database and send it, with this, your database will remain available on line in a smaller period of time:
 
Required structure (These are the necessary tools for carrying out the process of updating)
a. Create the following work directories C:\ BDWWW \ BASE (BASE corresponds to the name of your database)
b. Files requested for the generation and standardized FST will be provided by the Alliance SIDALC (Please to request its files to sidalc@iica.int)
 
Process of export of records in ISIS or WinISIS (in Order to export its records follows the following process)
a. Be located in the menu of export, in case of ISIS DOS (main menu, option M and then E), and for WinISIS (Database/ Export)
b. File ISO of out BASE.ISO, should be eliminated the separators of fields and records, verify the limits of MFN to export, if need a FST of convertion please to place put it in the corresponding space
c. Then the system requests the address where to save the file BASE.ISO, C:\ BDWWW \ BASE \ (should place the “ \ " at the end in case of being ISIS DOS)
 
Generation of the database (Once the file ISO was placed in the corresponding directory, is proceeded with the generation of the database that will be sent it)
a. Enter to the DOS environment (Programs/ Accessories/ Symbol of the system) and to be located in the directory
C:\ BDWWW \ BASE
b. Carry out:
- CREA BASE BASE (where “base” corresponds at the name of the database). This process corresponds to the complete generation of the database and should end without errors.
- APPEND BASE BASE (where “bases” corresponds at the name of the database). This process corresponds to the incorporation of some records into the database and should end without errors.
 
Generated files (These files are those which should select to send to the FTP or via E-mail)
The files recently generated in the directory C:\ BDWWW \ BASE \ (base.XRF, base.N01, base.N02, base.MST, base.L01, base.L02, base.IFP, base.CNT and base.ISO) are those which should put in the FTP or via E-mail.
